Earthquake- Again!
Max experienced his second earthquake while serving in Peru. The first was an 8.0 in February and this one was a7.7 and both were entertaining to him. Silly boy! The first one he had no idea what was happening and thought his companion was shaking the bed to wake him up before the alarm went off. This time he just rode his bed across the bedroom with a smile on his face.

I must apologize for
not writing a lot last week, we have been really busy here in Jayanca. Today
was fun we went to Motupe and did an activity where the whole district
contacted in there for an hour! It was fun and afterwards we went out to eat and
typical Latinos= none of them had money so I paid for it all. I think it’s reimbursable.
Afterwards we got ice cream and we headed back to Jayanca, we then cleaned the
room, our clothes, and our teeth. Always good to do a one and done deep clean
for the week! We then called families and went out to teach. Jesus has been
close to impossible to contact every visit with him has fallen through, not
wanting to get married, kid fell out of taxi, and today his brother got
arrested... but we had a lot of good visits, both of the moto taxies we had
were old investigators and want us to come back and visit them again! Score! No
hay suerte solo milagros, there is no such thing as luck only miracles. My comp
today told me something that was awesome, he said an 11-year-old deacon with
the priesthood has more power and authority than the Pope. I thought that was
awesome! I love you and good night

Today we had a
district meeting and my companion is amazing! He led the meeting with such
power! Afterwards we had an intercombio with the zone leaders, they are awesome
Elders, and the pench that they have is amazing. She cooks them waffles and
pancakes! She did not cook any for me but she did prepare a juice and it was
probably a sin because you know how the world works, if it’s too good to be
true, it’s probably because it is! What I’m trying to say is there’s got to be
a catch to it, it was orange juice soda, and manaqueia. I do not have a lot of
time tonight. I love you and good night.

today we ended the
intercambio and headed back to Jayanca, I spent so much time in vans traveling
from one town to the other these past few days, because when we got back to Jayanca
we had to head back to Motupe to do a baptism interview. It went really well.
Eñ Tituana, she is awesome, knew all the answers and had a super strong
testimony. Afterwards we went back to Jayanca and taught some good lessons, we
taught a mom about baptism.... she said she had already been baptized so we
explained in every shape and form the importance of the correct baptism and
practically cut her head off. She did not accept. I love you and good night

Today was a nice day
we taught some new people and found 6 new investigators, and taught a family of
10 people all teenagers so I kinda felt like a prophet from the book of Mormon
teaching a large group of people. They all are really ready to act on their
faith and they get a crack out of my jokes! I did not know how to say deep
fried so I just made the noise and they died laughing! But other than that not
a lot happened today, I love you and good night

Well I got called down
to the offices again today to do something for my visa. I think they mixed up
the papers because I walked in the door at the visa office and the elders there
said to go back to my area and come back in 2 weeks... ok I know they mixed up
the papers. So, we spent 5 hours and 22 bucks on traveling. we got back to the
area and were just kind of off today, not a lot of contacts, lessons, or
invitations. but Jesus has a fecha for the 7th of June! Him and his wife are
solid and we are ready for smooth sailing! And on a good note too, I got to
talk with Elder Huff and Elder Walker all day today! So that was awesome! I
love you good night

Today we had
conference of branches, so we went into Chiclayo. Our branch president had a
bus come and pick up all the members, so we did not have to be in a convey, and
it was awesome! I slept like a rock both ways. Our guest speaker was.... odd, it
was like he did not know he had to give a talk and was just improvising. He
talked about, temples, missionaries, the branches, leaders in the church, and
more. He had like no direction or theme. But it was good to see all of the
other Elders. we then had a weird night teaching, it is never the same when we
do not have personal study or anything. So I was in a funk. But I’m good now
and I love you and good night.
