Well today was awesome! we had super day of preparation, so all the elders and sisters got together, and we played games like sharks and minnows, water sports, volleyball, massive jump rope and more! I got really sun burnt but that has become the norm here on day of preparation. speaking of norms-- I got to say hi to the one and only... the man, the myth, the Elder… E. Norman! We said hi and I also vented to him a bunch of stuff and he helped me! He told me sometimes it’s just hard to get things rolling and that is all part of the learning process to be a testimony to god to see how bad we want to be out here and how hard we will work for it. then I talked to this sister missionary who is from Bolivia we came from the same mtc group, so she is obsessed with me talking Spanish because I knew none when I left the mtc. So, she wanted to talk a lot! But I do not want to get sent home. We came back to the area and CALLED our families! That was so awesome! Mom, Dad-- that reaction you got from the kid after the fat joke is how every joke of mine is received here. Just a blank stare. Well it was a great day I love you good night!

Today was a fast day! We got up and did some planning then planned out our week all morning, I also talked to my companion for an hour about things that bothered me, and he talked to me about the same. so, for the first time in 6 weeks I feel we are on the same page! so we taught and had a good time today! we had a lot of new people who we taught about Jesus and I bought bread. we have this new way of teaching I discovered, when people say no they do not want to hear us I ask for 5 min! that is all the time we want is 5 min. and we get the opportunity to talk and teach them for an hour! We had a ton of lessons today and I had rice with milk for the first time here in Jayanca so that was great! I love you good night! I had an awesome day here in Jayanca!

Well today was also a good day! We had fish for two meals... but I bought bread to lift my spirits. Because fish fills the stomach, but bread fills the soul! We talked to a member of the church of Jesus Christ today in the streets and all he had on was swim shorts and sacred clothing item that the church believes in... after that we contacted a guy high out of his mind! I almost took a Book of Mormon but my companion said they ask for them so they can make joints out of the pages because they are thin, and free. Do not get any ideas! Ha-ha then we went to a church meting to talk about investigators, but it turns out they had a dead poets society meeting where they must have canceled this week’s meeting because we were uninformed and the only ones to show up! We bought mega burgers today and I got my favorite juice-- malacuja! Wooooow I’m in love! Also, we taught a 7th day Adventist, and that was a mess. we were like do you believe in the bible? And she said, “yes” so we shared... acts 20:7, Corinthians 16:2, and I think Galatians 5:20-22. These scriptures are very clear that the Sabbath day is on Sunday, and she was like, “yeah that is not true.” We finally got to the point where the only way she would believe the Sabbath was on Sunday was if God visited her and declared it to her face, and even then, she was a little hesitant to say yes. Good day here once again, I love you good night!

Guess what day it is? It’s Jake Sandhagen’s birthday! Happy birthday man! well today was a good day, we had cake for breakfast that my pench cooked up, it was probably the best cake I have ever eaten and only because I could taste the love that she put into that cake! It was ugly and hard as a rock, but man she drowned it in a peanut butter thing and m&'m’s! After that we went to the room to plan our day and my comp has had a fish bone in his throat for 2 days so he was whining about that. We did not go out to teach in the morning because of that. Then we went to lunch and had another cake and she wrapped a pen and gave it to me! Probably now my favorite pen! I asked her son what it was as he gave me it still in the paper and he is a little special and he was like it’s a pen! But I was more fishing for the answer that it was a gift for me. Oh, it was so funny! We had some lessons but nothing of much, we taught a Jehovah witness so that was new! We then got a call to come down to Chiclayo tonight instead of in the morning for he multi zone conference. We had pizza and we all song happy birthday and had more cake! Great day! I love you good night.

Well today we had the multi zone conference and PDT. was powerful as usual, then we had pizza and came back to our room. That took most of the day. We had a lesson today and it was really good! At the end the lady served us tea. We went to teach a young lad and the lesson was a bit quieter than usual. we then went to our family who is awesome, but the only problem is they will NOT come to church. Before we knocked on their door me and my companion looked at each other and said yes or yes, we are going to invite them to be baptized. Well the lesson was good! We used evidence in the scriptures and had strong testimonies to go along with it. But at the end as my companion was wrapping up the lesson and finishing it off the invite to baptism was nowhere to be found. and in these moments, you cannot just interrupt your companion and say will you be baptized on this date- so I had little to no say. We had a closing prayer and he was not even going to invite them to church, so I stuck out a quick little offer, but like I said those never have much power. We got to the room and he said the spirit was not present because we drank tea... I told him the tea did not have caffeine in it so do not sweat it, the mtc served us the same tea. But he said it was different. Long story short I guess we just ended the night on different pages. And I agree, it was a mistake and I knew better regardless of if it was good to drink or not due to the message it sends to others. I love you good night

Today was a good day! We invited a lot of people to receive baptism, but they all said no. Except one kid, and depending on if he shows up to church tomorrow or not is if he is serious about it! Well the day went well and tonight we had a lesson with a member. We encountered him in the streets wearing sacred clothing of the church of Jesus Christ out in public with nothing covering. Well we taught about temples and at the end I said we encountered him, and I told him what we saw and how wrong it was of him to show them off to the public. It was probably the most direct I have been on my mission and I’m not going to lie, it felt really good to just say what was on my mind. he was not mad for the record, he knew it was wrong and he felt bad. That was pretty much the main point of my day today! I love you good night!

Mar 10, 2019
Well I’m officially 5 months into my mission and I’m doing great! Today we invited 5 more people to baptism and one excepted. We also started teaching this young person who has been coming to church for the last two weeks and it turns out she’s not a member, so we taught her the first lesson and she asked to be baptized! The only problem is it is really hard to get visits in with her busy day. A great day! President is calling a new secretary today and my companion kept saying it was me and even set an alarm called phone call from PDT. and said he was calling me! Fun little prank! Ha-ha and no I did not get called. I love you good night!
